Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: (a) On or about July 23, 2013, for the employee working from the ground and struck-by a pup trailer pulled in tandem by a semi-tractor trailer while engaged in site preparation construction activities at 510 North Enterprise Street, Aberdeen, South Dakota. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard would be for the employer to develop and implement a comprehensive construction work site traffic control plan that addresses struck-by hazards for personnel on the ground to include, but not limited to, earthmoving equipment and construction vehicles entering, operating and exiting the construction work site.
