Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm from fall hazards: (a)3068 E Overland Road, Meridian, ID: On October 16, 2007, an employee performing framing activities inside the structure was exposed to an approximate 12 foot fall hazard to the ground below while standing on the top rail of a Skyjack 4 x 4 scissor lift scaffold. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with ANSI/SIA A92.3-1990, Manually Propelled Elevating Aerial Platforms, paragraph 8.10.1, which states: "Personnel footing. Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon". Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
