Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: (a)At 17945 Highway 92 East, Tuscaloosa, AL - On or about 10/21/03, employees were not utilizing the restraint device provided on the Dynalift. Employees were exposed to crushing injuries in the event of vehicle tipover. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to ensure that all forklift drivers engage the restraint devices provided on the forklifts.
