29 CFR 1926.600(a)(6): Equipment covered by this subpart did not comply with the requirements of &1926.550(a)(15) when working or being moved in the vicinity of power lines or energized transmitters: (a)In that the belt conveyor of a concrete mixer truck was being maneuvered when it came in contact with an overhead power line energizing the truck and exposing the operator to the hazard of electrocution. Abatement certification is required for this item (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records. OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE: Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of electrocution: a)In that the belt conveyor of a concrete mixer truck was being maneuvered when it came in contact with an overhead power line energizing the truck and exposing the operator to the hazard of electrocution. One method of abatement, among others, is to install electric line sensors, made by the conveyor manufacturer, on the conveyor boom to warn the operator of danger. Abatement certification is required for this item (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
