Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of trusses collapsing from being inadequately braced: (a) Residential Construction Site at Locust and Lawndale, Twin Falls, ID: Southwest end: Employee(s) used a single 2" x 6" brace instead of building exterior ground bracing to support the first truss. Note: Abatement certification required for this item. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the guidelines for temporary bracing set forth in BCSI-B1/B2 summary sheet - Truss Installation and Temporary Bracing published by the Wood Truss Council of America
