Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: At the job site of 3138 Ridge Port Ct. Wichita, KS 67205, employees performing work to staple plastic onto a window, were using the bucket of a New Holland Super Boom BobCat Model# LS170, Serial# 165029 as a working platform. The employees were exposed to fall hazards to the ground below of approximately 9 feet 4 inches. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: Provide scaffolding for persons engaged in work that cannot be done safely from the ground or from solid construction. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is completed.
