Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard: CAUGHT
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a caught-in-between hazard: On or before 12/2/02 at Flaghole Road, in Clewiston, FL, an employee unhitching a Monosem Pneumatic Planter from a John Deere 7210 Tractor was exposed to a caught in hazard which resulted from the Load/Depth Control not being zeroed and the employer's failure to provide stands on the planter to prevent tip over as required in the John Deere 7210 Operator's Manual and the Monosem Operator's Manual. A feasible and effective means of abatement may include, but is not limited to: zeroing the Load/Depth Control per the John Deere 7210 Operators Manual and install stands on the Monosem Pneumatic Planter per the Monosem Operator's Manual. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
