North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)site - employees operating chain saw wearing chaps that were damaged. Ref: 29 CFR 1910.266 (d)(1)(ii) Among other methods a feasible and acceptable abatement method is to replace the damaged chaps. b)site - employees operating a chain saw and the employer did not provide cut resistant shoes. Ref: 29 CFR 1910.266 (d)(1)(v) Among other methods a feasible and acceptable abatement method is to provide proper foot wear and require employees to wear it. c)site - employees operating a Stihl 990 chain saw that was not equipped with a chain guard. Ref: 1910.266 (e)(1)(ii) Among other methods a feasible and acceptable abatement method is to have the chain guard replaced on the saw.
