Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard: CAUGHT
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being caught by the moving conveyor belt: (a) Location - Dock Area On or about 9/30/02, employees were unable to stop the conveyor at points where they access it. Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement would be to provide a pull cord along both sides of the conveyor that would stop the conveyor immediately if pulled.
