Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(ii)(B): Energy control procedures shall clearly and specifically outline specific procedural steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing machines or equipment to control hazardous energy: On June 15, 2026, at an establishment located at 112 4th Street in Luxemburg, Wisconsin; on the 131 Line, the energy control procedure titled "Machine - Lockout Procedure: Blow Molder #131, Uniloy 5838, 5-16-2012", failed to: (a) Identify gravity energy adequately, in that the procedure did not state that the swing arms could unexpectedly move after the loss of hydraulic energy and did not discuss the magnitude of that energy source. (b) Isolate the equipment from energy sources, in that the procedure directed employees to lockout a push-button on the operator control panel instead of an appropriate isolating device.
