Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were was permitted to operate an aerial lift which was mounted on an unstable surface: a) Delaware Avenue & Race Street, Phila,Pa. 19106 - an employee working in the basket of a condor 4248 aerial lift, which was chained to the bed of a trailer, was thrown from the basket when the trailer tipped over on its side (accident occurred 6/11/91) Observed 9/10/91 NOTE: ONE USEFUL AND FEASIBLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT, AMONG OTHERS, WOULD BE TO REQUIRE THAT THE AERIAL LIFT BE OPERATED ONLY ON FIRM AND LEVEL SURFACES.
