Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(ii):The procedures shall clearly and specifically outline the scope, purpose, authorization, rules, and techniques to be utilized for the control of hazardous energy, and the means to enforce compliance including, but not limited to, the following: (A) A specific statement of the intended use of the procedure; (B) Specific procedural steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing machines or equipment to control hazardous energy; a) On or about 12/11/2024 the employer did not ensure that the machine specific lock out procedures for equipment including, but not limited too; the DENGENSHA TOA (Model: NDZ-05T-48BSQ-P-D) (spot welder) contained the requirements of (A) and (B), a specific statement of the intended use and procedural steps for shutting down and isolating energy sources, the employer did not include the energy source of gravity, employees were exposed to potential caught-in hazards while performing servicing and/or maintenance such as changing and/or cleaning electrode tips for the spot welders.
