29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Unprotected sides and edges. (i) Except as provided elsewhere in this section, the employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the following: On or about January 8, 2025, at an establishment located at W3955 Mill Road in Bryant, Wisconsin, employees were exposed to fall hazards in the following instances; a) While working at the top of the catwalk while replacing the first band saw blade on the two head and were not protected from falls of over 7 feet. b) While working at the top of the barn cleaner at the debarker to place the chain back on the sprocket are not protected from falls of over 10 feet.
