Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.217(c)(1)(i): The employer did not provide and ensure the usage of point of operation guards or properly applied point of operation devices on every operation performed on mechanical power press(es). a.) Viking Tool & Gage, Inc. 11210 State Highway 18 Conneaut Lake, PA 16316: on or about 12-05-2024, and times prior thereto: Employees are exposed to hazards associated with the Keyence GL-R4OH-T light curtain not working on the Bliss 60-ton press machine #PN21 in the Stamping Area. The light curtain did not shut the 60-ton press down in the event of an employee breaking the plane to access the point of operation. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
