29 CFR 1915.73(e): Employer allowed employees to work near the unguarded edge of a vessel afloat, not protected by personal flotation devices meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1915.158(a): a) Atlantic Oceanic: On or about 10/20/24, subcontractor employees who were not wearing personal flotation devices were engaged in sweeping parts of the cargo deck and had access to an unguarded section of the stern. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
