1910.9(b) Training. Standards in this part requiring training on hazards and related matters, such as standards requiring that employees receive training or that the employer train employees, provide training to employees, or institute or implement a training program, impose a separate compliance duty with respect to each employee covered by the requirement. The employer must train each affected employee in the manner required by the standard. a) Site- On or about November 12, 2024, employees using an SST40EIH-02 Versalift aerial device as a material lifting device were not protected from vehicle tipping, boom failure, and ejections hazards where employees were not provided with operator training from the employer. The SST40EIH-02 Versalift aerial device was not rated for material handling, the employees were unaware of the lifting capabilities of the aerial device, and the weight of the utility lines being lifted was unknown to the employer. b) Site- On or about November 12, 2024, employees using an SST40EIH-02 Versalift aerial device as a material lifting device were not protected from vehicle tipping, boom failure, and ejections hazards where load limits were exceeded. The SST40EIH-02 Versalift aerial device was not rated for material handling and the employer was using the aerial devices to lift utility lines of an unknown weight.
