29 CFR 1910.95(g)(5)(i): Within 6 months of an employee's first exposure at or above the action level, the employer shall establish a valid baseline audiogram against which subsequent audiograms can be compared. On or about April 10, 2024, operators working in the Winding Department were exposed to high noise levels equivalent or exceeding the 8 hour time weighted average (TWA) of 85 dbA. The employer did not establish a valid baseline audiogram against which subsequent audiograms can be compared for these employees: On or about April 10, 2024, Winding 1 operator was exposed to noise at 175.6% of the permissible daily dose, or an average sound level of 95.3 dbA as measured over 407 minutes of sampling. This dose is equivalent to an 8-hour TWA exposure of 94.1 accounting for the period of 73 minutes not monitored. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
