29 CFR 1910.106(d)(7)(iii): Fire control. "Open flames and smoking." Open flames and smoking shall not be permitted in flammable liquid storage areas. On or about November 7, 2023, at an establishment located at 724 South Industrial Drive in Waupaca, Wisconsin; the employer permitted employees to smoke in the spray finishing room where Class 2 and 3 flammable liquids were stored, exposing employees to fire and burn hazards while they and the employer were smoking in these areas.
