29 CFR 1910.1000(b)(2): The employer did not ensure that an employee's exposure to hydrogen sulfide as listed in Table Z-2 would not exceed at any time during an 8-hour shift, the ceiling concentration, except for a time period, and up to a concentration not exceeding the maximum duration and peak concentration as allowed in the column under "acceptable maximum peak above the acceptable ceiling concentration for an 8-hour shift": (a) On February 24, 2023, at or near CR45 and 115M Avenue NW in Watford City, North Dakota, at the Cherry Creek State 10 - RTB facility, a multi-skill operator (pumper) was exposed to hydrogen sulfide in excess of the ceiling value of 20 parts per million (ppm) and the peak value of 50 ppm, while responding to high-level alarm on a low pressure knock out tank.
