29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a. On or about February 17, 2023, at the compressed natural gas (CNG) refill station, the employer did not adequately assess the hazards present to the eyes/face when employees refuel forklifts with compressed natural gas (CNG). The only hazard assessment for refueling forklifts, JSA HSAf--0086 Refueling CNG Forklift, did not address the potential cryogenic burn hazards from CNG to the eyes/face in the event of an incidental release during the refueling process.
