29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i):The employer shall conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirements of this standard are being followed. a. On or about January 27, 2023, and at times thereto, the employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedures and the requirements of this standard were being followed. Employees were engaged in maintenance activities on machinery including but not limited to shear presses which required the use of hazardous energy control. An inspection of the hazardous energy control program/procedures had not been performed to ensure adequacy and proper application.
