Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.120(q)(2)(ii):The emergency response plan did not address, to the extent not addressed elsewhere, personnel roles, lines of authority, and communication: Rocky Mountain Metal Container - Chemical Process Area (Building 32): On or about January 23, 2023, and at times prior, employees on the Chemical Process team were exposed to chemical inhalation and skin corrosion hazards in that, the employer's emergency response plan did not clearly define or address roles and responsibilities for employees during chemical spill response events. The employer failed to address which employees were trained if Hydrofluoric acid, Sulfuric acid, or other chemicals in the Chemical Process area spilled. Members of the Chemical Specialist Team were required to clean up "minor" spills and leaks.
