29 CFR 1926.451(f)(3): Scaffolds and scaffold components were not inspected for visible defects by a competent person before each work shift, and after any occurrence which could affect a scaffold's structural integrity: a) On or about December 20, 2022; Westside of building; Employees were exposed to falling approximately 8-feet from the two-point adjustable suspension scaffold where one snap pin and two locking mechanisms used to secure the guardrail system were missing as a result of the competent person never inspecting the scaffold prior to use. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
