29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2): An exit access must be at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points. Where there is only one exit access leading to an exit or exit discharge, the width of the exit and exit discharge must be at least equal to the width of the exit access. The employer does not ensure that all emergency exit accesses are at least 28 inches wide at all points. a) This most recently occurred on or about November 29, 2022, through December 1, 2022, at Dollar General Store No. 22944, located at 607 East Highland Drive in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. The employer does not ensure employees are protected from potential injuries from fire or other emergencies when the emergency exit access in the receiving room to the double door emergency exit is partially obstructed with carts, rolltainers, and various items, narrowing the exit access to approximately 13 inches.
