29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): Energy control program. The employer shall establish a program consisting of energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performs any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative. (a) On or about February 22, 2022, at an establishment located at 1097 Ehlers Road, in Neenah, Wisconsin; the employer did not ensure the Blower Application Co. Equipment No. 3B, Serial No 170952A3 which was in line with the Kugler-Womaki, Machine No. 00303; Machine Type: HS542W was de-energized using an energy isolating device. The employer relied on the Square D 2510 MCG3 Manual Starter push button to start/stop the blower when performing cleaning activities exposing employees to inadvertent or restart of the equipment. (b) On or about February 22, 2022, at an establishment located at 1097 Ehlers Road, in Neenah, Wisconsin; the employer did not ensure the Blower Application Co. Equipment No. 3B, Serial No 170952A1 which was in line with the Belomatik 4666 was de-energized using an energy isolating device. The employer relied on the Square D 2510 MCG3 Manual Starter push button to start/stop the blower when performing cleaning activities exposing employees to inadvertent or restart of the equipment.
