29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2):The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: a.) TJ Whipple Construction Company, Inc.; 1015 E. 12th Street, Erie, PA - On or about 2/22/22, and at times prior thereto, an employee was cutting conduit to a live 480 volt panel box. The employee had not been instructed in electrical safety or training prior to starting the removal of electrical equipment. b) TJ Whipple Construction Company, Inc.; 1015 E. 12th Street, Erie, PA - On or about 2/22/22, and at times prior thereto, personnel were potentially exposed to electrical hazards and were not trained on the requirements of 29CFR 1926.416 (i.e. Safe Work Around Electrical Systems). c) TJ Whipple Construction Company, Inc.; 1015 E. 12th Street, Erie, PA - On or about 2/22/22, and at times prior thereto, personnel were potentially exposed to electrical hazards and were not trained on the requirements of 29CFR 1926.417 (i.e. Electrical Lockout/Tagout). ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
