29 CFR 1910.23(b)(8): The employer did not ensure that ladders were used only for the purposes for which they were designed: a) Jobsite, parking lot area, 9365 McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237: On or about October 12, 2021, a 16-foot Werner brand aluminum extension ladder (model number: D1116-2) was being used for a purpose for which it was not designed. The extension ladder top rails could not be properly supported by a light pole that was only four inches wide. The maximum reach height of ladder was 15 feet but the light pole was approximately 18 feet in height. The ladder was made from aluminum which is conductive material. The ladder was being used near a light pole that was on. A Makita brand sander and an orange extension cord were found near the light pole. The 16-foot extension ladder was not designed to be used near any electrical current.
