29 CFR 1910.147(d)(3): All energy isolating devices that are needed to control the energy to the machine or equipment shall be physically located and operated in such a manner as to isolate the machine or equipment from the energy source(s). a. On or about September 29, 2021, employees were performing service and maintenance covered activities, such as cleaning and lubricating the band saws, without isolating the saws from their electrical source, thereby exposing employees to machine hazards such as moving parts.
