29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1):The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a) Bird Department - On or about May 07, 2021, the employer exposed employees to potential health hazards from zoonotic diseases and corrosive chemicals, in that the employer failed to assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present and to select and mandate the use of personal protective equipment, such as but not limited to hand protection, respiratory protection, eye protection and skin protection for employees working with sick/infected animals, cleaning the birdcages, mopping the floor and working with hazardous/corrosive chemicals at the workplace.
