29 CFR 1910.272(e)(1)(ii): Current employees, and new employees prior to starting work in the grain handling facility were not trained in specific procedures and safety practices applicable to their job tasks including but not limited to, cleaning procedures for grinding equipment, clearing procedures for choked legs, housekeeping procedures, hot work procedures, preventive maintenance procedures and lock-out/tag-out procedures: a) Grain Handling Facility: On May 19, 2021 and at times prior thereto; information was not provided to employees on the hazards of combustible dust and the importance of safe work practices to minimize these hazards. Safe work practices include but are not limited to, completing a hot work permit to help identify and minimize potential hazards prior to performing any welding or other hot work; types of work clothing to be worn; and the reasons why a comprehensive, documented housekeeping program is essential in all stages of a grain handling facility. Note) Certification and documentation of corrective actions are required for this item.
