Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: (a) On or about 04/17/2021 - Strapper #5 at Line #1 in the Strapper #2 position, authorized employees were exposed to caught-in hazards when performing periodic maintenance activities such as, but not limited to, oiling and/or wiping the chain in the Timing Belt Table Drive unit with a hand-held rag while the chain was moving and not utilizing lockout/tagout procedure number 80 for the Auto Strappers. (b) On or about 04/17/2021 - Strapper #5 at Line #1 in the Strapper #2 position, employees were exposed to struck-by and thermal hazards when performing periodic maintenance activities such as, but not limited to, cleaning up strapper dust in the compression bar area and dismantling the R.H. heater slide guide to eliminate dirt and a procedure number had not been developed for controlling potentially hazardous energy due to compressed air and thermal energy.
