Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Examination. Electric equipment was not free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. On or about 9/15/2020, Universal Packaging Corporation did not examine the electric equipment and ensure it was free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Employees were operating a Paco labeling machine, serial number 911-1. The machine had a positive and neutral wire running out of metal conduit. The wires were spliced outside of the conduit and hanging below the machine; they were not enclosed in conduit or a junction box. The wires carried approximately 115 VAC, exposing the employees to electrical hazards.
