Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use: a. On or about April 23, 2020 and thereafter, at the Long Term Care 4th and 5th floors. The employer failed to establish and implement a written respiratory protection program with work-specific procedures for employees, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and housekeepers, who were required to wear tight-fitting N95 and KN95 respirators while performing job duties such as, but not limited to, providing care and housekeeping services to confirmed and suspected COVID-19 positive patients. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
