29 CFR 1910.177(c)(1)(i): The employer did not assure that no employee services any rim wheel unless the employee has been trained and instructed in correct procedures of servicing the type of wheel being serviced, and in the safe operating procedures described in paragraphs (f) and (g) of this section: a) Firestone Complete Auto Care Service Area: On or about June 19, 2020, and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from tires while inflating tires with air on the Coats Rim Clamp Tire Changer. Employee did not receive training on how to correctly match tire and wheel sizes and proper tire mounting procedures with this tire changer. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
