Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a. 1819 Atlanta Hwy. Cumming, GA (Extrusion Line #2 Vulcan Coiler) - The employees (ZCM 1000 electric tape dispenser operators) were exposed to sudden energization or start-up of the single energy source machines by not unplugging the cord before maintenance is being performed (clearing the tape jam). The employer did not have machine specific procedures for the single energy source electric tape dispenser (cord and plug). The employees were not disconnecting/unplugging the machine which is equivalent to lockout/tagout before servicing/maintenance, on or about 10/29/19. Note: The exception to 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i) was not followed in its entirety.
