Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.332(b)(1): Employees were not trained in and familiar with the safety-related work practices required by 1910.331 through 1910.335 that pertained to their respective job assignments: On or about September 10, 2019 a electrician performed servicing tasks, such as opening 600 volt switch gear, that contained energized electrical components. The employee was trained in, but not familiar with safety-related work practices including the purpose and necessity of wearing electrical personal protective equipment, such as but not limited to, leather protectors, ear canal inserts and a face shield when working on or near energized components at or above 50 volts. Employees were exposed to the hazards of shock, electrocution and arc flash/blast injuries. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
