29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: (a) Acetylene Gas Plant: On or about August 15, 2019 and at times prior, employees are exposed to fire and explosion hazards while blowing down acetylene bottles prior to maintenance. Employee are permitted to wear short sleeve shirts and pants/shorts and flame resistant (FR) clothing is not required. Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item.
