29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a. Milling and drill press machines, such as, but not limited to, the Bridgeport drill and two drill presses in the aluminum screen department, were not included in a personal protective equipment hazard assessment. Employees were allowed to wear gloves during mill operations and an assessment to determine if and what type of glove could be used was not conducted. Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
