29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative. a) River Drive Service Center Inc - The employer did not implement a sufficient energy control program for the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles. On or about July 13, 2019, the employer did not address hazards specific to removal, repair and maintenance of truck body components. The tailgate was not adequately blocked to prevent unexpected shift or movement of the tailgate during torch cutting operations. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
