Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): Such programs shall provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers. On or about the 3-day period of April 29 - May 1, 2019, located at a commercial roof structure, there were no frequent and regular inspections being performed by a competent person in that employees: were working in a roof work area surrounded by a perimeter cable system installed on only 3 of 4 sides, resulting in an open area of approx. 52 feet that did not allow employees to properly tie off to all sides; performing roofing work in close proximity to plastic skylight panels that did not have covers of suitable strength in place; had covered an energized three-phase service drop line, that crossed over a corner of the roof structure, with asphalt roofing material and tape; were using a yellow extension cord, with damaged outer jacket, that contained a 3 inch section repaired with red tape; and were using a yellow extension cord that contained a 2 inch section repaired with electrical tape.
