29 CFR 1928.57(a)(11): Whenever a moving machinery part presents a hazard during servicing or maintenance, the engine was not stopped, the power source disconnected, and all machine movement stopped before servicing or maintenance was performed, except where the employer can establish that: 1928.57(a)(11)(i) The equipment must be running to be properly serviced or maintained; On or about 22 January 2019 employees were instructed to service the chains on a conveyor system while conveyor is moving without stopping or deenergizing other sections that are not being serviced, but are in close proximity to the employee, and the employer did not provide a safe way to reattach chains, exposing employees to the hazards of being caught in conveyor chains.
