OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: a) Kaltenback SKL 400H - on or about September 19, 2018, employees used a circular cold saw to remove tags from pipe sections, but the clamp holding the pipe in place allowed for movement and ejection of the pipe being cut, exposing employees to struck-by hazards. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to replace the damaged clamp and add an additional pneumatic horizontal clamp or replace the clamp to meet specifications set forth in ANSI B11.19, Section 12.3, Workholding Equipment and ensure the workholding equipment does not create a hazard in and of itself.
