29 CFR 1910.107(h)(12): Fire protection. All areas used for spraying, including the interior of the booth, shall be protected by automatic sprinklers where this protection is available. Where this protection is not available, other approved automatic extinguishing equipment shall be provided. a) Armor Consolidated Inc., located in Lebanon Ohio, on or about October 24, 2018, the employer did not ensure that all spray areas used for spraying, including the interior of the booth were protected by an automatic sprinkler system or other approved automatic extinguishing equipment, in that the employer only had fire extinguisher(s) available. Employees working in the line powder booth were exposed to a explosion/fire hazard while working with POWDURA TGIC polyester Powder Coating. b) Armor Consolidated Inc., located in Lebanon Ohio, on or about October 24, 2018, the employer did not ensure that all spray areas used for spraying, including the interior of the booth were protected by an automatic sprinkler system or other approved automatic extinguishing equipment, in that the employer only had fire extinguisher(s) available.
