29 CFR 1910.266(d)(7)(i): Hand signals or audible contact, such as, but not limited to, whistles, horns, or radios, were not utilized whenever noise, distance, restricted visibility, or other factors prevented clear understanding of normal voice communications between employees: a) On or about February 21, 2018, and at times prior thereto, sawyers were felling trees in the same unit, adjacent to each other without radios or other communication devices, where undergrowth, trees, brush, terrain, and distance prevented clear communication between the two. NOTE: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item.
