29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the following; Guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Hydro Laboratory- On February 15, 2018, the employer did not provide a standard guardrail system at the mobile ladder stand, including a top rail 42 inches (107 cm), plus or minus 3 inches (8 cm), above the work platform and a midrail installed between the platform and the top edge of the guardrail system, or the equivalent, to prevent employee(s) from falling approximately nine feet to the concrete floor below. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
