29 CFR 1910.132(b): The employer did not ensure that employee-owned equipment was adequate as required: a) Pinnacle Powder Coating, Inc. located at 61 Saint Marys Street in Norwalk, Ohio; On or about March 28, 2018 the employer did not ensure employee owned personal protective equipment was properly maintained. An employee owned tight fitting elastomeric half mask respirator equipped with particulate filters was not properly maintained in that the elastic head strap no longer held its elasticity, inhalation valves did not match each other, and the inside surface of the respirator was covered in black material. The employee was exposed to hazards associated with exposures to particulates not otherwise regulated containing 1,3,5-Triglycidyl Isocyanurate such as, but not limited to, irritation to the eyes, throat, skin, and upper respiratory system, hematologic effects, and male reproductive damage.
