Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): a) Production Area- On October 20, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that all areas where hazards created by pinch points at the Hold Down Area were guarded on Inserter Machine #2 to prevent injury to employees during the operation of the machine. b) Production Area- On October 20, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that all areas where hazards created by pinch points at the Hold Down Area and the point of operation on the end of the inserting line under the counter were guarded on Inserter Machine #4 to prevent injury to employees during the operation of the machine. c) Production Area- On October 20, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that all areas where hazards created by pinch points at the Turnover and the point of operation on the end of the inserting line under the counter were guarded on Inserter Machine #7 to prevent injury to employees during the operation of the machine. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
