29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(i): Adequate precautions were not taken to prevent the ignition of flammable vapors: (a) Batch making room: On or about October 16, 2017 and at times prior thereto employees used a Blue Hawk metal ice scraper, which is capable of producing sparks, in conjunction with Acetone, a flammable liquid, to perform floor cleaning operations. (b) Batch making room: On or about October 16, 2017 and at times prior thereto employees handled Abeita HC-85, which is capable of producing static charges when poured, into process vessels containing flammable liquids, without taking adequate precautions to prevent static electrical charges from developing, which could cause ignition of the flammable liquid.
