Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1928.57(a)(6): At the time of initial assignment and at least annually thereafter, the employer did not instruct every employee in the safe operation and servicing of all covered equipment with which he was or would be involved: (a) Manure Shed, Aisle 6, House D, Manheim Production - Not all employees who serviced farmstead equipment received instruction on how to safely perform all servicing tasks including adjusting chain tension on the chain and sprocket drives of the manure belts and the danger of using hands and fingers to grip the chains given the possibility of suddenly shifting chain tension, exposing employees to getting caught in or caught by moving machine parts, on or about August 23, 2017. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
