29 CFR 1926.651(i)(1): Where the stability of adjoining buildings, walls, or other structures was endangered by excavation operations, support systems such as shoring, bracing or underpinning was not provided to ensure the stability of such structures for the protection of employees: (a) Banuelos Quality Concrete Corp. at 3137 W. Denver Place, Denver, CO 80211: On and before August 7, 2017, the employer did not provide a support system for the exposed house foundation wall after the adjacent soil had been excavated (sheer cut) to a level of approximately 2-3 feet lower than the foundations base. This condition exposed employees working in the excavation to struck-by hazards when the foundation wall collapsed, resulting in an employee being severely injured.
